A few weeks ago Cornwall was in a state of bike fever as the Tour of Britain visited our little county for the first time, we were honoured to host the first stage. Of course I had to do my best to capture some of this on film so that there's a record left when internet armegeddon arrives;) So I spent the day chasing the peloton around the duchy managing to catch them in 3 locations, the first not long after the start at the delightful hamlet of Morvah, then at the county town of Truro with the viaduct and the cathedral as the backdrop and finally catching them up again at the finish straight at Bodmin. These were among my last darkroom sessions before I had to pack it all away for home alterations and I managed to make 3 contact sheets and a handful of prints before tiredness set in and I ran out of gas! For once I think I chose my kit wisely, I had my Pentax MX with a 28mm wide angle and a Nikon EM with a Tokina 50-200 zoom around my neck, both loaded with double X rated at iso400 and souped in Xtol. I'm in love with contact sheets btw, a bit of a pain to make but a really cool way to record and edit a roll.
