    @fartstorm It depends on shutter speed, but basically as fast as my finger can pump the shutter release button... about 3–4 frames per second. Fully wound, the spring should last for half a roll (24 square frames, ie. six seconds or so). Let's say fifteen seconds for 50 shots, plus a few seconds' winding break in the middle. Not enough for fluid animation, but not bad for a camera over 80 years old!
    The scan is from an uncut film strip, so you see how precise the mechanism is. The frames are all exactly 1 mm apart.
