Stained Glass, 2023

First time ever using a Canon AE-1. Honesty, I respect the place this camera holds in the history books, but not really all that impressed. It is a function thing, not the way these photos turned out. Anything wrong with these is a result of me challenging metering conditions and my choice of developer (read as user errors). Ended up giving this camera away to my son's long-time girlfriend, who has an interest in learning photography. Tested with Kentmere 400 Pan souped in my goofy HC110, Dilution H (15.5ml of syrup to make 32 oz.) for 12 minutes.

Guess it's just what I have, light meter works, I leave it on M, you see through the lens so what you see is what you get. I

@POLOCK — I appreciate your comment and what you are saying. I knew a lot of people that had AE-1S when I was coming up and a lot of them made beautiful pictures. I had a K1000 and spent what I could on good glass. At the end of the day, the camera body is just a box that holds the film and (in most cases with 135 film) controls the shutter. The glass, the film, the user’s eye, and the dev are what have the most impact on the photo. I found the AE-1 a bit fiddly to work with. Just my preferences. My son’s girlfriend is enjoying it and I was happy to pass on a solid and working camera to her. Again, thank you for the comment.
