  • Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day 2013

    shared by mafiosa on 2013-05-03

The first anniversary of Analogue Alberta coincided with Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. We celebrated with an entire weekend of pinhole shooting, starting at Elbow Falls and eventually ending up in downtown Calgary. This is the first time I have used the pinhole setting on the Diana F+, and I am very happy with the results.

Experimented with infrared ocean shots. The sun was to bright to get those cobalt blues I was hoping for, but I love how it captures everything on the rocks. Going to try shooting this again with Sarah earlier in the day.

Unfortunately, we had snow here on easter weekend and everything was cold and grey. We had to change our route a few times because of snow and ice.

Well this film was first exposed as ISO200 because it was meant to be used for a doubles with some crazy Spanish girl but I totally forgot and i took it to the beach and shot it as ISO100 ... I had to ask the lab to develop pulling 1 step so it wasn´t overexposed

Been after a Nikon FM2 for a while now... built to last, top shutter speed of 4000th/sec, depth of field preview switch, oh, and of course a multiple exposure switch :-)

For my first swap with @aguillem, he thought it would be cool to have the first layer be "pixels". I the results are very cool, although I wish the pixel layer would have been able to come through more clearly on some of these. Thanks again @aguillem for this wonderful swap. I you haven't already visited his home, please do so here: http://www.lomography.com/homes/aguillem

A vestige of an old pier. Malibu. I took these photos to express on film what I attempted to express in this short article: http://www.lomography.com/magazine/lifestyle/2013/01/28/analogue-girl-about-town-now-that-im-30-ive-become-painfully-aware-of-my-own-mortality

I never get tired of shooting the 120 feet tall French King Bridge. The smaller Millers River runs into the Connecticut River right at this spot so it's fun to shoot from the little iron bridge that crosses the Millers. Afterwards I hiked down underneath the FKB and admired the thousands of rivets holding the thing together.

The idea and composition of these two pictures belongs to gleby. I am just a button-clicker. =) For the fact, that the photos were lit, I can thank my maiden memory. =) I opened the camera being sure that the film is not there. The result came out funny. Although, at first, I was terribly upset.

http://www.blanchesnickelodeon.com/ I posted my favourite cross-processed shots of home the other day, which inspired me to give it a go in Kenya… Cross process or Xpro is shooting on slide film (E6) and developing it as regular colour film (C41). It produces surprising and irregular results… I’m still to master it. I took the film to the photoshop I use to develop any colour film I shoot here in Nairobi. I sneakily covered up the labels of the films with stickers, hoping the lab would not know the difference between the C41 and E6 films I’d handed in. They did notice and so I explained what I wanted. They had never heard of cross processing and were intrigued to see the results once I told them what to expect. I also told them how popular it is amongst the Lomography community. I have three Kodak Elitechrome films with me here and at 200 Kenyan Shillings or £1.50 for developing I might just give it another try.
