Be the master of perfect timing and lightning-fast reflexes for a chance to win prizes worth 450 USD!
Having a camera is a welcome refuge in a fast-paced world. In the hustle and bustle of your daily life, we challenge you to capture striking black-and-white photographs that showcase motion. Hit pause or let the action go on — here are some ideas to get you started:
- Stop the Time: Imagine having a pause button and freeze every activity around you: that gymnast doing a somersault, that basketball player jumping for the hoops, or even those children sprinting on the streets. Shoot with a fast shutter speed to capture that equally quick subject suspended mid-action.
- Go With the Flow: Blurs can be used creatively to suggest a swift movement. Set your camera to bulb mode or slow shutter speed and turn those moving crowds and cars into painterly streaks.
On top of a voucher worth 50 EUR/USD for our Online Shop, one lucky winner will have a chance to join an 8x10 Tintype Session worth 400 USD from Penumbra Foundation, a New York-based non-profit organization that brings together the art and science of photography through education, research, outreach, public and residency programs. Please take note that the trip and accommodation to New York are not included as a prize and chosen participant should attend the session within the year.
Aside from this, a runner-up will take home a Lomo'Instant Cabo Verde and two packs of Instax Mini films, plus three more winners will get a voucher worth 50 EUR/USD for our Online Shop.
Each participant may submit up to 10 black and white photographs. This competition serves as the qualifying round for the Monochrome category of our TEN AND ONE Annual Lomography Photo Awards 2019.
