This is why the forest is closed
These photographs do not really capture the damage the fires have done to the Tonto Forest. I could not get any closer since the area was closed and a Highway Patrol car was parked on the highway on ramp behind me. It is sad for me to see this beautiful landscape turned to black trees, cactus and white piles of ash.
