Mark Nisbet's Summer of Skateboarding on the ActionSampler

Skateboarding and photography have been a long-standing duo due to their unique and dynamic natures. A perfect example is the work of Mark Nisbet, who has been involved in the intersecting industries for over 30 years.

How can you avoid getting four of the same images in the frame?

Mark advises:

"You can move with the things in the foreground or the background with your subject staying still to show the movement of those things, hold steady and let your subject do the moving, hold steady and then twist or pan off at the end to get a frame or two out of focus or blurry, or you can shoot from A to B in a line.

A good example would be starting at someone's feet up to their head. But the frames do go by fast; it’s about moving and movement in the frames. There is also something powerful about the same image four times with very slight movement—it's always interesting to see what you can get in the end."
