Hi Isabella, welcome back! Can you tell us why you chose this setting to test our LomoChrome Color '92 ISO 400 Film ?

Hello and thank you for inviting me back. I wanted to give these shots a slightly melancholic touch because I wanted to convey my mood as much as possible. I had been stationary for a long time for various reasons and had not been able to shoot for several months, so the feeling that most reflected me when I took these photos was just that.

What features did you like most about this film?

The colors are wonderful! I was pleasantly surprised that the tones that stand out the most go perfectly with the shoot I had in mind. Also, the grain that you see in the darker photos gives that vintage touch that I like so much and that I always try to add in the post production of my digital photos.

Which photo is your favourite from this series and why?

This photo below is the one I thought of most when we set it up. I really wanted it to come out like this and you know, when you shoot analogue you can never be sure that the end result will match what you had in mind. But this came out perfect. Also, as I said before, I find it most reflective of the feelings I wanted to convey.

What do you think about the arrival of a new color negative film on the market?

I find it very versatile as a film and you can indulge yourself depending on the lighting conditions you want to exploit. I learnt from seeing the developed photos that it is also fun to play with the flash, because it gives an even more vintage feel to the shot.

What do you think is the ideal setting for shooting this film?

It definitely needs natural light to be at its best. But as I said before, it is very versatile. I found myself using it both on a bright sunny day and on a gloomy day (here I think it gave its best) and the results were fantastic.

What camera did you use?

I used a Yashica Kyocera MF-2. It was my first time using this camera but I have to say that although I have only ever used disposable analogue cameras, I had a great time with this one too.

You shoot mainly digital photography. What were the challenges in picking up an analogue camera again?

Definitely not seeing the result of the shot you just took. We are so used to technology and seeing everything right away that we forget the beauty of the little things – the waiting, the doubt of having taken the right photo, the excitement and joy when, having developed the film, you see shots you had forgotten you had taken. I admit that every now and then, having taken the photo, I found myself looking at the back of the camera, searching for the display.

After seeing the developed photos I ran out to buy another roll of film because I really enjoyed this project and I think I will now always carry the analogue camera with me. I would love to try other rolls of film with different characteristics and colours and come up with projects to suit each one.

Do you have any interesting projects you'd like to share?

I have so many in mind. Surely now that I have a lot more time to devote to them you will see more. I would like to try, now that I have rediscovered analogue photography, to combine analogue and digital in some way, certainly incorporating my signature trait of putting flowers everywhere.
