Lomography Embassy Store Bratislava

Bratislava Lomography Embassy has gone a long way, going through many changes since 2009 but keeping it analogue all the time. Even a fire couldn’t stop it!

The place had been a gallery, an office, a shop, a ping pong arena, a yacht port, a concert venue, a place for local pop ups, meet ups and with a café next door and promenade in front of it is one of the places to be in Bratislava. The shop is located in the heart of Bratislava right underneath the castle. Come see for yourself!

We interviewed Matej, owner of the Lomography Embassy Store Bratislava, so read on if you’re curious about his answers!

Which one is your favourite Lomography camera and why?
LC-Wide, I make a lot of good pics on one film with it. It’s a super compact wide angle film camera just perfect for snapshots.

What’s the weirdest Lomographic moment you’ve ever had?
Persuading more than 50 people during a presentation on a music festival (my digital presentation has collapsed and I needed to improvise) that we will perform a Guinness record by shooting the largest circle of people on one frame with the Spinner 360° camera. I convinced them and we made some nice “Guinness record” shots, everyone believed me, even my girlfriend and my friends.

What is the nerdiest question you’ve ever been asked in your shop?
We get weird questions from people who have no idea, e.g. where do you put the memory card? Are these all toys for kids? Film still exists? Or from people who know or think they know too much, but they are not asking they are explaining. You have never cross-processed black and white film? You can not calculate the right exposure time from top of your head for this handmade pinhole camera?

Where is the best place to shoot some Lomographic masterpieces in your city?
Flashy pics in clubs with crazy people, easy like Sunday morning downtown pictures from terraces of cafes, or some post apocalyptic 70’s sci-fi sculptures and buildings from the communist era.
