Walking in Como with a Supersampler Camera

I like to take photos of the street life of my city, especially public events, sports, and the life around the wonderful lake. This time, I used an uncommon camera for me, the amazing Supersampler, loaded with a Kodak Ultramax 400 film roll. Read more about my impressions about this camera!

Some months ago, I wrote an article about a sport event, an international skating competition , where I have taken many photos with my Supersampler camera

I love the possibility to shoot in two modes: standard or high speed. This is very useful for sports events. In this article, I write to you my impression after I used the camera in an uncommon way: documenting the life around my lake, where people like to stay to relax.

As you can see from the two photo above, the four frames appears near identical, however if you observe carefully the details, the time is always flowing, and there is a slow motion of the people like the waves of the lake.

You can use this camera both in horizontal or in vertical mode: the only problem for a precise framing is the small plastic viewfinder, you need a little of experience to use it correctly, especially if you are wearing glasses (like me)

Animals are unaware of the flowing of the time, the ducks are swimming freely and slowly on the lakes, and you can capture this quiet atmosphere in a series of four frames

It is a simple camera to use, and the film advance mechanism, together with the four lenses and the colourful body, attract many people who are curious about this toy!

This is a valid alternative to my Action Sampler camera. If you like multilens cameras, you must have both of them: the framing is different, and the whole effect of the photo is different too.

This camera loves the light and high speed film: even in sunlight it performs well with a 400 ISO speed film; while when there is a cloudy or winter sky, you might use an 800 (or even 1600 in cloudy winter days) ISO film.
