Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your interests?

Hi everyone! I’m Silvia and I’m 26. I’m from Rome, but I’ve just moved in Berlin. I’m a dreamy girl, totally in love with analogue photography. Two years ago I started writing on my blog about my experiences with film and toy cameras. It all begun with a Diana Mini back when I didn’t even know what a shutter or a film speed was. Now I can process film by myself. That’s a big turn, isn’t it?

Silvia’s an awesome Lomographer, too!

Describe the LomoKino in five words.

It is so very romantic!

How did you like shooting with the LomoKino?

For me, the LomoKino is one of the easiest way to make an analog videoclip! That’s great because you don’t have to buy old 8mm video-cameras, nor the ones with videotapes. I also like that LomoKino movies are always very short , never boring, straight to the point!

Before the LomoKino, I didn’t make any videos, because I don’t like using digital stuff. Once I tried with my Holga, inspired by this tutorial and by leatherheart’s works, but it was a little bit too hard for me!

What or who has inspired you to purchase and use the LomoKino?

Actually, the main reason is my passion for stop-motion that’s why I decided to use the LomoKino especially with this technique. I’ve just found out how to use it with my beloved Lomography Ringflash for a perfect combination with close-up/macro lenses.

Any funny or strange encounters you’ve had with it?

Nope, I use it usually in my place. But sometimes when I use it outside, everybody stares at me as if I were a fool! They don’t have a clue that I’m making an analogue video and they always ask me what the hell I’m doing!

If you could shoot any person alive or dead (or imaginary) with your LomoKino, who would it be and why?

I would like to shoot the amazing artist blu while he is creating. That would be great.

Kindly share to us any LomoKino movie you love the most.

This is the first LomoKino movie that I’ve made using the stop-motion technique. I wasn’t sure that it’d work but it did! I made it with the Holga’s macro lens and a musical box.

Blue

Any future plans with your LomoKino? More shoots or a full-length film perhaps?

Yay! I’d like to create my version of Scorsese’s “The Big Shave” with fake blood and all! I know that it will be really ambitious and I’m still going over it. Maybe I have to wait ‘til next Halloween to find all the stuff I need! Any volunteer for the main character? ;)

Your advice to future LomoKino users.

Be creative and get closer!
