She has been experimenting with Lomography and stop-motion even before the LomoKino was released. So just imagine the great relief she felt once the analogue movie maker came out!

A student not only of Architecture but also of Lomography and all its wonderful casualties, dakota- or Claudia outside the Lomographic Community was instantly smittened by the LomoKino! Come and hear more of her story in this week’s edition of LomoKino LomoAmigo!

Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your interests?

I am a 24 years old student of Architecture. I started to be interested in photography when I was 14, before I spent my time drawing and painting, then I felt the need to capture everything that aroused strong emotions and the most immediate thing was photography.

How long have you been a Lomographer and how did you find out about the Community?

I started with the Lomography Diana F+ in 2009 and I learned about the Community while I was looking for tips for my Spinner 360.

Describe the LomoKino in five words.

Funny, interesting, simple to use, magic, and fascinating.

How did you like shooting with the LomoKino?

Sometimes I listen to music before shooting a movie, I let music tell me how to shoot and which film to use. Other times I shoot just what I’m doing.

What or who has inspired you to purchase and use the LomoKino?

The technique of stop-motion has always intrigued me, my early works with this technique have been made with multi-lensed cameras (Action Sampler or Oktomat). When the LomoKino was released I had to buy it!

Any funny or strange encounters you’ve had with it?

*Nothing strange has happened to me yet, but when I go out with the LomoKino, people look at me curiously.

If you could shoot any person alive or dead (or imaginary) with your LomoKino, who would it be and why?

Eadweard Muybridge, the pioneer of motion photography and Patty Smith for her determination and her wonderful voice.

Kindly share to us any LomoKino movie you love the most.

This is the first video that I shot with the LomoKino. I was with a friend of mine, and after a morning of study we needed to have some fun. So I took masks, wigs, and other carnival objects without a clear idea and we started shooting.

Any future plans with your LomoKino? More shoots or a full-length film perhaps?

Now that summer has come I will have more free time and I will definitely realize some interesting project. I will realize a short film, but still do not have a precise idea of what to do. But don’t worry, when the film is almost ready I’ll release a trailer!

Your advice to future LomoKino users.

Be patient, especially while scanning the film, it will take a long time. When you shoot someone you have to choose a willing person. Do not think of any rule, shoot what you like in the way you want, and don’t worry about people that look at you
