Tips from the Workshop: Quick and Easy La Sardina Lens Cap Security Cord

To make a security cord for your La Sardina lens cap, you will need the following materials:

• Your precious La Sardina, of course
• Ribbon or any string
• Scissors
• Tape or super glue

1. Place your La Sardina on a clean surface, and get your string. In this case, I used a black ribbon. Pull up the advance knob and securely tie the ribbon and measure the length you need to use by placing the other end of the ribbon to the La Sardina lens cap. Make sure to have allowances so you can adjust the length that suites your liking.

2. Get your La Sardina lens cap and tape the other end of the ribbon at the back side of your lens cap. One tape might not be enough so another option is to super glue the string and then tape it so that the lens won’t have scratches. When using super glue, be sure to follow the drying time or leave it overnight so that the adhesive will not damage your lens.

3. After that, test if the lens cap fits, and if you’re okay with the length, cut off any excess ribbon.
