Nets are set-up in many areas in the long stretch of Copacabana's white sand beach for volleyball, football and other locally adapted ball games. Groups meet to play. Some would come dressed in full clothes and would just undress in public to reveal their swimsuits/trunks. Sports seems very close to Cariocas' hearts. They just love to play. (Note: Carioca is a term used to refer to locals of Rio de Janeiro.)
