The gloomy Pesaro asylum, active from 1825 to the mid-90s.
It has hosted countless psychiatric patients and marginalized who have often spent their entire miserable life within its walls.
Its director was also Cesare Lombroso father by the way of physiognomy: Parascience that combined the physical traits and attitudes to mental illness.
(according to him my tattoos betray my criminal mind.;-))
Wandering among the squalor of these cells and read fragments of insanity in forgotten documents scattered on the floors would disturb the dreams of anyone.

I am amazed that this site hasn't been vandalized and covered in graffiti. Abandoned places here in the states are often torn apart, by scrappers looking for copper wiring to sell.

It happens here too, in many abandoned places that I photographed you see the signs of vandalism and spoliation of everything that has a minimum value.
Even in the asylum I found several signs of encampment of homeless people,
but being partially unsafe and even hosting the protected homes for the mentally ill in the perimeter of his garden, it was in some way protected from major damage ... and besides is scary, you feel that it is not a nice place. :-)
