   No car in sight that day because this one block was closed off with barricades (don't know why). So, the residents and visitors took advantage of the blockade and strolled down the street in bicycles, skateboards and on foot. This was a perfect opportunity to take a photo of a block that was once one of many busy streets filled with merchants, haggling buyers and heavy traffic back in the 70s and 80s. Those merchants are gone, but there are still some Mom & Pop shops around. Anyway, I love the quietness and peace that a Sunday brings in some parts of NYC and this block is a prime example of the tranquility I seek.
