Here's what the fake 35mm Aerochrome film from @robinsonjake looks like when you develop it. Ugh. Here's what my lab wrote to me about this garbage:

"Peter... one of those rolls was definitely NOT aerochrome. Our best guess is that it was some sort of movie film, like Seattle Filmworks film. Not good... The black gunk is a remjet coating that comes off in the process the film is supposed to go through, in our machine it just makes a mess. We tried to clean the edge to find out what the film was, but can't find any edge printing." In short, don't be deceived by this fraud and scam artist on Ebay or Etsy. I waited too long to get my first roll developed and so did not find out it was fake film until it was too late to file a claim with Ebay and get my money back... BUT, I was lucky enough to get my $400 back from the second transaction and Ebay agreed that they have received numerous complaints about this fake film.

@adash, oh yes, the lab was NOT happy at all about the black crap that ruined their chemistry. When I called them afterwards they asked me to please not send them anymore of this garbage.

Awe, that sucks! The images still look cool, but it's the principle that counts. Glad you got some $$ back.

Bummer! Sorry about this! Now here's the question: Can I still like a shot with such a story behind it? Because this one looks like a painting to me. I think I can ;-))

gosh dam it! that´s really rude. the importsnt thing is you got the money back i´d say. just read what you wrote in the shoutbox and he told he had no problems with ebay. probably he will soon.
but anyway i think moodification is right on this: far from being a aero but looks dope as "painting" ;) chin up.

I hope your lab's machines aren't too messed up... Anyway, this one looks freakin awesome. You should try to get a large print out of this. Psychedelic as hell!

Sorry to hear about fraud. It totally sucks that anyone would do this, but last I heard, Double Exposure Labs still processed Seattle Film Works. It's not Aerochrome, but at least you probably can shoot it.

Got the same con with the same fucker robinsonjake (aka photographyuk12). 10 rolls. First he didn't send me the films at all. When asking the tracking number, he gave me several ones for other countries, other persons, never mine. At some point he stopped answering, claiming the tracking he gave was good and I was shit. Seriously...

I put a claim on Paypal, and after seeing all messages concerning this dickhead, asked not to receive anything and be refunded immediately... Despite that, this asshole sent me the films with a valid tracking number (when I don't want them anymore...).
I shot the 11th roll he sent me as a compensation for the late (fucker!!!) and brought it to the lab. Results are not as bad as yours Pete, but it's definitely not Aerochrome. I noticed a very small text on the negative: EASTMAN 5293 223 0251 402 TM.

After a short look on the web I found this: journal.smpte.org/content/91/10/922.abstract
It is indeed cinematographic film, and it seems expired since 1982 !!!

If you too got conned by this son of a bitch you should immediately contact Paypal and ask for a refund. It's a bit of a heavy process but it works. Now they got his name, several feedbacks against him and I hope he's gonna be in big trouble very soon.

I will encourage/help all those he stole. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any question about this.

    @elvismartinezsmith
damn it! I recently bought aerochrome from photographyuk12 on etsy!
I haven't received the rolls yet. do you think I can ask Paypal for a refund?
    thanks for the warning!

Hi @dida yes do something immediately! Connect to your Paypal account, check the tracking number and see if it is really yours (in my case he first supplied Paypal a tracking number that was incorrect). Also contact Paypal and tell them you're now aware this seller is a thief, selling cinematographic film instead of photographic.
One important thing: if you don't receive your shipment don't even bother to contact this fucker, he will lie, and then eventually send a new parcel but it's really useless, the film is crap. Paypal is on him now, so I think it's the good time to push it.

the man is trying to gain time so that when you put a claim it's too late and you can't do anything anymore. So go for it right now, and take care to respond all Paypal demands on time.

@clickiemcpete and @elvismartinezsmith thank you so much!
I've opened a dispute and alerted PayPal.
