Today, 12th June 2016 I found that my SEAGULL 4B-1 could not fire the shutter. It is my first square size camera and it can not repair in Japan. IR72 filter & T-Max Developer.

#Grainy, mostly because of the 400 ISO but maybe also because it's an #expiredfilm. I like it anyway.

Again, overexposed. But it has this retro vibe I love, especially with the brown defect at the bottom of the picture. I still don't know why it's happening. If you do please let me know. Thanks!

Prologue: I bought a strange little point and shoot from my photo lab because it was the first one I'd seen where the roll of film was in the open while the film was wound snugly into the camera. I shot one roll on it with unfortunate light leaks and posted a review with photos here: http://boredslacker.blogspot.sg/2016/05/the-filmout-camera.html Fast forward to the 2nd roll of film and now, more aware of potential light leaks, I made sure the film was secured correctly to the camera before going out to shoot. Lo and behold, light leaks begone!

  • Taste the Feeling

    shared by dotpotodot on 2016-06-10

Perhaps the hardest thing about street photography is that a photographer should remain discreet all the time. You need to be a ghost gliding in the midst of a hectic habitat . You need to learn that you exist to be absent in your subject's thoughts and consciousness. If you want to capture a true moment without pretense or affectation, then you need to disappear completely from the scene. Keep in mind that you are not part of the moment nor the creator of it. A single reaction can change the feeling or the spirit of your output. A slight motion affects permanence. As a photographer, what you have is a captured moment of perpetuity - and the goal is to keep it real.
