I snapped the sunset walking into Cambridge one evening then flicked the MX button and, as usual, left everything to chance. Shot the second layer on my way home after it had got dark and lucked out with the results!

Gulls are easy enough to come by in Cambridge, just visit any part of the riverside armed with a big bag of bread and they’ll soon find you. It never ceases to amaze me how agile they are especially when it comes to grabbing something to eat, incredible aerobatic feats are second nature as they pluck food from the air. It's also possible to lure some close enough and snap them mid-flight where every detail of their beautiful wings can be seen.

For every double that comes out kind of the way I want there are 10 or 20 shots that don't. Like this one where I wonder how it would've looked if only I'd got more of the bird in the frame. Oh well, put it down to experience and try, try again.

This tunnel has an integrated LED lightwall along one side which constantly changes colour as you walk along its 90m length. If you catch it right the effect can be quite dramatic.

Taken from a double exposed roll where I shot a whole bunch of sunsets then rewound and added a second layer during a Lomo walk around London. Unfortunately the film didn't line up very well so there are frames all over the place. This shot turned out to be an absolute riot of colour which kinda makes up for the split right down the middle.

The first time this film was developed it looked a bit different www.lomography.com/homes/lomomowlem/photos/21012437. I was curious to find out what it would look like with an alternative alignment so had the film rescanned and this is how it came out second time around.

Doubles with the LC-A can be an inexact process so it's best to be prepared for imperfection, you win some, you lose some.

Unfortunately the film didn't line up very well so there are frames all over the place. The split down the middle seems to work in this one especially as I got lucky and two people obliged by walking along the pier nice and symmetrically for me!

June or so, 1996. I have a vague recollection of this being on the CNE grounds, but the CNE isn't until later in the year, so I don't really know why we'd have been there.

Shot underneath the flight path at Stansted Airport where it’s possible to get quite close to the planes as they approach the runway. Only when I got this developed did I notice that there seems to be a giant smoke ring next to the aircraft. Perhaps the first officer was having a crafty fag out of the window as they came in for landing. Nice aura too.

This weekend I visited my hometown Straubing and enjoyed the first springlike weekend walking around at old and new places, e.g. the civic center and the oldest graveyard of bavaria. The film is double-exposured crossed Fuji Sensia ISO 200 with shooting color gradients from my computer screen first.
