John and I roaming the grounds at Amherst College in January. The Voigtlander Virtus is another example of the many amazing Voigtlander cameras from the golden age of folding cameras, 1930's-50's. This one is fitted with Compur shutter and excellent Skopar 75mm f3.5 lens. I love the vertical orientation of this piece, so cool looking and great to use. One of the marvelous features of these early Voigtlanders is they had an external knob that allowed you to set the distance even before opening the camera so you could preset the distance and then only have to worry about aperture and shutter speed as you popped the latch. http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Voigtl%C3%A4nder_Virtus

  • Iceman - TIFF Screening

    shared by mafiosa on 2012-09-18

I was fortunate enough to be in Toronto recently during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and caught the screening of Iceman. The film Iceman is based on the biography of Richard Kuklinski, a convicted mafia hitman. The cast was in attendance for this screening at the Princess of Wales Theater. In some of the photos, you may be able to pick out Winona Ryder, Michael Shannon, Ray Liotta, etc.

    shared by wil6ka on 2012-09-15

I was stranded in Kasakhstan with plenty of time on my hand. But suddenly I bumped into the charming Aizhan Bekmukhamedova, who is running the fashion web-portal http://look.tm/ in Almaty. I asked her, if she would help me to organize a local fashion-shooting and within hours she came up with a handful of great models. This is the third album of this series.

I have had it with Lion + Vuescan, I am sure it is what is making the colours of my cross-processed film all freaked out and "not right". I haven't been happy with the scans of my last few films.Time to remedy that.

A dream came true. A few weeks ago I was in the factory of one of my favourite panoramic cameras, with the promising title Noblex. I use the 35mm version, which was produced only from 1998 until 2002. Dr.Kunze or Reinhardt, how I can call him, did the past decade mostly the repairs of this wonderful but moody piece of technology. And I was his best customer. With the end of August this factory closed its doors forever and so I was also his last client...
