After shooting a roll, take it into a dark room and open the film. Then sprinkle hot water filled with baking soda all around on the film, with flicking my fingers. Rewind it and put into a pan and pour water, and boiled it for about 5 minutes. Rinse and dry, and cross-deveop it. Done!

From ”filmsoup-swap” project with my favorite photographer fotobes. About this photo I shot first in Japan (Matsumoto Castle, Nagano), and then he started shooting in UK. He shot at Millennium Bridge, London. After finishing the roll he ”cooked” the film. On completing the roll, he mixed together some boiled water with silica gel and washing detergent, and left it to cool a little. Then he went into his make-shift darkroom and pulled out the film from the canister. Next he flicked and dabbed the ”soup” onto the exposed film. He waited for a few minutes and then rewound the film into the canister. Afterwards he went to the kitchen and dropped the film into just-boiled water, and after 5 minutes I transferred it into cold water for a minute. Then back in the darkroom he pulled the film out from the canister again and dried it with a hairdryer, and when done he rewound the film. The film was then developed at Asda, and scanned at The Vault in Brighton. We don’t discuss what we have each taken photographs of, so the results are always a surprise. Check out fotobes’s album from the same project. http://www.lomography.com/homes/fotobes/albums/1995715-lc-a-plus-film-soup-swap-with-hodachrome

  • Both sides of the daily life

    shared by hodachrome on 2012-06-27

Exposing both sides of the film (EBS). I shot on correct(normal) side first in a sunny/bright day, at ISO400(ISO800 film inside). Below half of the lense was masked with a splitzer. After finished a roll, reverse the film (in a dark-room). Then start shooting on redscale side in a cloudy/rainy day, at ISO200. Upper half was masked with a splitzer. The order of each location is precisely the same as 1st shots. I took notes in details about locations and shot all places with iPhone, to remember locations. Need patience, concentration, and accuracy for this challenge. Plus must be careful with 'gaps' between frames. Have a look at my article about this technique: http://www.lomography.com/magazine/tipster/2013/01/14/tipster-how-to-take-symmetrical-images-with-exposing-both-sides-of-the-film-ebs

Dolphins are swimming in the early spring sky. Shot dolphins first at an aquarium. After finished whole a roll I set it again into LC-A and then start shooting at an amusement park. There are only a few nice results and this is the best one. Tough challenge but worth trying :)

Met this beautiful subject just by chance while driving in my town. One of the most favorite shots by redscale film. Shot with a splitzer.

visiting the city of Jaipur catapults us back in time to a historical era when architecture was grand in scale..this is the icon of jaipur...the Palace of the Winds locally referred to as Hawa Mahal. It is one is one of my best Lomographs.. because the imagery reflects a kind of haunting spirit of this structure, that still domineers over the city today. http://www.lomography.com/magazine/locations/2012/10/09/jaipur-tripping-on-some-sprocket-rocket-magic

At the UNESCO World Heritage Site, here in Goa, India...this Church of St.Cajetan is unique, in that it is based on a Gothic Cross plan..a square cross with all equal sides..very unlike the widespread Latin Cross layout with an elongated nave. The highlight is this central dome and the play of archways..
