  • The Sea Salt Experience

I used this film with my fisheye with submarine case. Unfortunately, my submarine had some water leaks and the salted seawater came inside the camera and the film... When I gave it to my usual lab, they told me they couldn't process it as the film was wet... :( So I waited for a solution and let the film like that, unprocessed, in my room. After a month, I noticed that some strange signs of corrosion were to seen on the film canister, and thought that perhaps there was something interesting happening inside! But how could I process it??? And there I thought that this could interest Mr LabRat himself: Mandi! I wrote him and asked if he could process the film for me. And finally, almost 3 months after being shot, after a long maturation time and some special treatment to dry and process it, the pictures are here! Thanks a lot Mandi! ;)

The first time this year bobsledding. The pictures was made in the afternoon, so I used the submarine case and the flash. But some pictures turned out a bit dark. I developed the roll on my own, it´s my fourth roll which I developed on my own. :)

So I skipped a couple of american fall and chilean spring photos straight to summer in Brazil. I spent the holidays at my hometown, Fortaleza. This beach where these pictures were taken is called Taíba and it's about 1 hour from Fortaleza. You won't get to see much of its beauty at this time because fisheye in the water is basically for head shots hehehe But there are more pictures to come. I LOVED LOVED LOVED using the submarine on my Fisheye 2. I could not use my krab because my LC-W is broken and LSI has not sent me a new one yet. Anyway, fun times at the beach/pool! :D

Just me. Testing if my old now defective fisheye would work in the waters of Boracay. When advancing it to the next frame, it doesn't stop until the third or fourth frame and sometimes endlessly (well, I mean until the last), hence, wasting some precious frames. I had no recourse but to make doubles so the unexposed frames may turn out still with an image at least. While my hope was diminishing, these shots would still testify that I can still rely on my old fisheye but have to find ways to remedy its defect. Took these shots of me with the fisheye in the submarine in the beach and in the pool of Golden Phoenix Hotel and doubled with street vignettes when I got back to Manila.

    shared by lomomowlem on 2013-03-16

I dropped my LC-A and as it hit the ground the back popped right open. Damn! Thinking it was broken I managed to rewind what was left of the film and send it to the lab where they developed half the roll. When got the negs back I found that 2 or 3 of the images weren't developed because I presume the lab thought they were ruined thanks to all the light leaks. So I scanned them myself and this is what came out.
