    Chernobyl/Prypiat: A Silent City

September 2011, Marije (s0y) and I finally took the trip we wanted to do for so long, visit Ukraine, Kiev and in particular, the 30km exclusion zone around Chernobyl, with the ghost town of Prypiat. When I saw the bumper carts, I almost cried. Afterwards, we were exhausted; there was so much to take in. And bringing too many cameras is never a good idea. ;)

Sun Thrift Store: Possibly the Greatest Thrift Store in the World!

One is not supposed to share wonderful thrift stores, but this one is such a grand, dusty, funky-smelling adventure that I must share for the sake of Lomography!

East Malaysia, Sibu: The Heart of Sarawak

Sibu is a place like no other. One of the main cities in Sarawak, once a favored small town of the white rajah of Sarawak, Rajah Brooke as it controlled all the activities of central region. In history textbooks, it states how the locals lead by Rosli Dhobi stood up and fought against the British. Sibu is where history and different cultures mix together into one.

Victoria and Alfred Hotel, Cape Town

A hotel with the best ever view you could possibly ever wish for. While preparing for going to Cape Town, I obviously wanted to stay somewhere with a Table Mountain view. It is called such because of the clouds rolling across the top of the mountain, which looks like a table cloth. A lot of the hotels advertised "partial Table View", but in reality, you would have to hang out by the window with the possibility of a broken neck to see even a glimpse of this majestic mountain.

El Cabanyal: Valencia City's Main Beach

One of the best beaches in Europe. Just a few minutes away from anywhere in Valencia there is an amazing beach (miles and miles of soft yellow sand) by the Mediterranean Sea. Lush and golden beaches - that's how they call it in the guide books.

To Russia with Love: Udelnaya Flea Market, St Petersburg

It is a place for real hunters! While I was living in St Petersburg, I have only been to Udelnaya Flea Market once. So, when I visited the city again with two of my friends who have never been to Russia before, they requested to visit a local flea market.

Pudu Prison: The Smell Of Death

Have you ever been to Pudu Prison before? Pudu Prison was once opened to the public, however, as attendance from Malaysians are low, they shut the prison down and did not retain the prison as a historical site to pave way for a brand new building. Modernization at it's best

Rough on the outside, warm on the inside. Our visit to Sicily started in Palermo, where we landed. We felt it would be too much of a hassle to drive to Taormina immediately so we decided to stay overnight and learn more about Palermo.

Get a Nice Girl and a Kid So You Get to Know Your City Better

I dig deep in the city each time I go for a walk with my 4-month-old son. So if you want to get to know Berlin better - mainly the "Barrios", Kreuzberg and Neukölln - read on after the jump and have a look at the gallery at the bottom.

    Analogue Urban Exploring in Dadipark

Together with a small group of friends, I went to the abandoned amusement park 'Dadipark', which closed almost 10 years ago after a series of accidents in which a 9-year-old boy lost his arm. Although more and more people find their way to this park as it is an open secret, it is still quite intact. It was freaky and fascinating. And definitely worth a visit.

The Sea Swimming Pool of Uturoa

Going to the swimming pool is always cool, but I don't like it when the place is closed and smelling strong chemicals... open air pools are much better, but the chemicals in the water are still there... and what about an open air swimming pool that is open on the beautiful waters of a logoon? That's what I want to show you now, the open air sea-pool of Uturoa!

    Place de la Concorde, Paris

Not only a place of memory, but also an open-air circus. At 8 hectares (20 acres), the octagonal Place de la Concorde is the largest square in Paris. It is situated between the Tuileries and the Champs-Elysées. What is now a place for taking pictures with the Eiffel Tower on the horizon, as well as a reforming place for all sorts of street artists, is actually a place of great heritage.

Clifton Beach, an urban paradise. Clifton Beach is made up of four coves and the beaches are called First, Second, Third, and Fourth. When the summer south-easter blows, the Clifton beaches are usually well sheltered from the wind but to be honest, it’s great to visit all year round.

    Lisbon Graffiti: Calçada da Glória

When you visit Lisbon, you must ride the typical funicular, "Elevador da Glória". My suggestion, if you are a street art lover, is to go up in the funicular (Lisbon streets are very steep!) and come down walking to enjoy the art.
