In terms of experience, I'm fairly new to the world of photography. I picked up my first "real" camera in 2008 on my first trip to New York City. I took 400 pictures on my small Sony Cybershot, point and shoot, digital camera and haven't looked back. I have been shooting avidly for the last three and a half years and I upgraded to my first DSLR, a Canon EOS 50D in April of 2010. As much as I love that camera, I've recently become very interested in film photography. I was instantly intrigued when I found a Canon AE-1P at my father-in-law's estate sale. Even though it was not functioning, I picked up another one at a local camera store and thus began my new love affair with film. I've only recently begun to experiment and my camera arsenal now includes numerous vintage models, lomography cameras and Polaroids. I look forward to exploring film and photography in even greater detail than I already have.

I prefer shooting a variety of things, including travel photography, street photography, urban decay and landscapes, architecture and abandoned structures and things. However, I'm particularly drawn to making ordinary objects look interesting or finding ways to abstract them. In 2011, I took on my first major project - Project 365. I shot at least one photo every day for the entire year. It was a long, daunting task, but it was well worth the effort I put forth. It changed the way I view the world and it forced me to approach mundane items differently - two things that will make me a better photographer in the future. With the close of 2011, I'm now starting a new chapter in my photography. I'll be experimenting with film and instant film throughout the year as well as working on existing projects and developing new ones. I hope to produce work that is as inspiring to me, if not more so, than the work I produced in 2011.

I'm always open to hearing comments, suggestions or critiques about my work, so feel free to let me know your thoughts. If you're interested in having me shoot a project or you would like to commission a piece, please fee free to contact me.
